Whiteboard of creativity or fancy play with technology?

When it comes to creativity we know as much about it as Galileo knew about the roundness of earth, when everybody held the notion that it was quite flat. We know that creativity is something which is inherent part of our makeup but only on the basis of our intuition. A scientific proof of creativity in humans is yet to be provided.
GE launched a site sometime back which quite relevently (according to them) has been named imaginationcubed. But when you look at it from a detached perspective it appears more of a glorified version of Microsoft Paint utility than anything else. It does provide several features such as inviting other people to contribute or save your design but ultimately it is nothing more. Come to think of it Yahoo messengers also came with one of the imveronments for doing such a thing, if you remember (Doodle IM).
So what is the purpose of this site? Is it just another one of the fanciful flights of those who have spare time on their hands or is it the first brick of the connected creativity which is still in its infancy?
